Is the ISX the engine that caused so many problems over the years?

No a florida shop. Hes in Massachusetts at the dealer getting it fixed. They confirmed the other shop didn't torque the bolts, and it caused the bolts to break gears and come out. The warrantee is covering it and that shop is using their liability insurance. However, they claim the insurance won't cover a rental. So we will be out a truck for a long time, and out of pocket. We will be filing a lawsuit for the expenses.

The shop that did the repairs caused this. They didn't torque the bolts inside the gear box. Caused them to back out and destroyed alot.

Did you try asking them nicely before resorting to the lawyer?

I didnt get a lawyer. And yes the shop had to send over the damages and report to the warranty center. The extra damages the gears caused falls on the shops liability insurance. We have a load on thats 3 days late because of them. We will loose money because the truck will out of service for awhile. We have to rent another truck, fly him home etc. Then fly him back. They will pay for all of this by. We didn't pay 13,000 to only drive 2000 miles and have this happen. Literally just came out of the shop. Dot inspections and all.

I think the Maxxforce is the one everyone collectively hates lol. I've not heard too many complaints about the ISX's

Thankyou so much. We just wanted them to pay for a rental to move this load we have. They wouldn't even pay for the tow truck. But they've been very rude. We're looking at a few weeks could be more to get truck running. Covid and part delays.

Ya any crappy mechanic worth their weight in gold will deny that it’s their fault.

The one big issue is O/O have is finding a reputable mechanic. Very few exist.

hope it all works out for you two and best wishes.

Also want to point out, I hover over everything my Mechanic does and double check his work. He doesn’t like it but I don’t care. It’s my lively hood.
