Anybody heading to the coast from MD to Northern MA better rethink there trip. Most coastal towns have bin evacutaed and businesses closed and boarded up untill the storm passee. Schools have bin closed and most municapalities are only wanting key personal to come to work. I would rather waite it out where i know i'am safe than getting stuck in flood waters. In CT where i live there saying the flooding could be as bad or worse than the hurrican of 1938 which was a record storm and still is to this date. There talking 6 to 11ft storm surge.

Welp, I'm sitting at the receiver in Chestertown, MD. Very easy drive over. Moderate winds, steady rain. The locals seem nonplussed.

Broker can't get hold of the receiver, but their last word to him on Saturday was that they wanted this load here on Monday. It's here. If nobody shows at the receiver in the morning, you can be sure that someone is going to be paying one heck of a detention / layover bill.

And yeah, I've got food and drinks to last a week, and 260 gallons of fuel. I'm good.

    Whoa.

If I'm gonna take heat for using the word "whilst", I can NOT let "nonplussed" slip by!

    Very good, windy!:biggrin_25514:

Damaging winds Monday into Tuesday, especially Monday afternoon and evening.

High Wind Warning remains in effect from 6 am Monday to 6 pm EDT Tuesday.

    * Locations: southeast New York, Northeast New Jersey and Southern Connecticut.

    * Hazards: damaging winds of long duration.

    * Winds: northeast 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph, becoming East Monday evening and then Southeast late Monday night.

    * Timing: Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon. Strongest winds are expected Monday afternoon and night.
    * Impacts: a significant threat to life and property exists. Damaging winds are expected. Winds will be capable of Downing trees and snapping off large tree branches. Power outages could be widespread and last at least several days. Debris will block some roads. Most poorly anchored mobile homes will be damaged. Other homes may have damage to shingles, siding, gutters and windows, especially if these items are not properly secured. Loose outdoor items will become airborne. Causing additional damage and possible injury. Windows in High rise buildings could be broken by flying debris.

--per a friend of mine who works one of the smaller newspapers in NYC (Metro, if anyone cares).
