I'm on the very edge of the storm 650 miles away. It's literally black above the house and the sun shining to the southwest. Wind has been blowing 20+ mph since yesterday. It might be a category 1 but the width of it is immense with the two storms joining.

I hope all is well and there is minimal casualty. It couldn't hit a worse area with all the population in it's path. The whole country is focused on this storm.

Just made it to MD.-Delware line. Key bridge just south of here was restricted to 64,K lbs. min. and it was that windy across there.
Now sitting here at the flying j with the truck stop shut down without power. Totally baffes me, why they don't have backup generators at these big truck stops. Seems the money they loose in one shut down would pay for a generator.

You're almost in a direct path too. The worse is about to start and last to 9-10 pm. I'm surprised they don't have a generator either. I've seen a few with them.

Yeah, pilot I am at has these huge metal boxes mounted on concrete with the cat logo on them (the engine, not the scale people), I can only assume they are generators. Perhaps it is an older flying J.

Interesting how life grinds to a halt without electricity, and even basic survival is in question. Society is way too fragile these days...

Same thing from the DOT site, but probably would be updated faster. http://www.dot.state.pa.us/Internet...n&src=$$ViewTemplate for CurrentYear?OpenForm

On my way to Harrisburg, won't get there until Wednesday. Guess we may end up taking the load to their Chicago division depending on what happens.

I drove empty with a dry van on 95 south from Elkton, MD to DC, then west to Manassas. Started at 9am, got to Manassas around noon. No major issues, just a couple of gusts going around on 495. I did see a Carlisle trailer that was folded in half while going around 495.
