I might dump the dish, leverage the internet I already am paying for and bundle the TV service with it and pay a few dollars more to gain access to certain channels like the weather but I'll have to think carefully before I move on that. The problem is the DVR offered does not allow skipping of commercials which I hate. Maybe TiVo might be the best while i pay the net service to it.

I've been wondering about this. Can you take it on the road?

Directv now.... it has 3 packages all 100% internet live tv. 2 devices can stream at same time. No cable boxes no contract. I got biggest package 125 channels plus HBO. 70$ for 125 channels 5 for hbo. 75$ a month. Wife uses it at home on Apple TV or fire stick I use on road. Att don't count against your data but att and direct all have unlimited data now. Works wonderfully. I dropped my DIRECTV tv mailed boxes and cut down the dish.

ps vue is internet tv. Just like netflix. So yes it goes on the road. As long as you have internet.

I've been thinking about other options as well. The problem is everything i want. Comes in different packages. Each having to be paid for. By the time all is subscribed too. I'm into it as much as satellite tv.

Netflix already costs $10. CBS wants to charge $10 if you want ad free. $8 if you want ads. Now hulu wants to charge $10 to watch reruns like netflix. And as mentioned, COMMERCIALS. NBC is available but ABC isn't last i checked anyways. ( Or is it the other way around ) Don't know about FOX.

We've already got YOUTUBE wanting to charge us if we want ad free. Or deal with the ads eating up our internet allotment. Before we can watch the video.

There's a directv ad on facebook that says $35 for 60 channels. $5 more for hbo or cinemax.

PS Vue is not the best option for OTR trucking. When you sign up initially it logs your IP address and very few channels work away from your home on the phone app. Sling TV is a much better option It works anywhere you can get a 3Mbps connection and costs less. They are also coming out with a cloud based DVR. Its being beta tested now. DirectTV now has been extremely glitchy since its release. I would wait a while on them.

Watch a few youtube videos on how to install builds. Its possible to watch pretty much anything on tv on it. Even if you don't want to dive into the shady world of 3rd party add ons there is a ton of content in the official kodi repository.

I'll be honest with you, I don't even watch t.v. on the road. I'm gone 3 to 4 nights then home for 3 to 4 nights. When I park for the night I make dinner, following up on email etc, then hit the hay.

I cut the DISH cord at home because I got sick of them raising the price everytime you turn around. With PSVUE $45 a month is a number I can live with for what I get.

I don't watch much on the road either once I-70 in Indiana shook the TV off its mounting bracket.

I also cut the cord from time warner cable. Cut a $190 a month bill down to $34.99 for internet only. When we get bored with antenna TV where we get the major networks we subscribe to one of the Internet tv services. Jan it was sling. They gave me a free roku for signing up for a month at $20. We took an extended vacation in Feb so canceled sling for that month. Considering DirectTV now for March since they are giving away a free fire stick as a promotion for signing up for a month..

    Scooter Jones Thanks this.

I wonder if Hulu will do like Netflix... Not allow a prospective customer to see what they do and [mostly] do not offer until you've signed up and have a credit card on file. Then you see how much they really suck and never have anything you're looking for.
