Are the day cabs set up differently from the OTR/Regional cabs as far as speed, safety devices, etc?
Do they actually pay what they say they will pay for local company driver work?
What does insurance cost, and is it possible to opt out?
Any other comments/suggestions about working local for JB?

I have a question ( Raises hand ).
Why local?
And most of their day cabs are Cascadia's with DD13 lawn mower engine.
One dude told me it works out to like $20 an hour or so.
One gig is setting up appliances. BIG appliances, like fridges, etc. That is paid piece work. Works out to like $20 hour.
You need to REALLY need money to do this lol.
Rail is good, but not completely local.speedyk Thanks this. -

This is in another state. AZ prospects and responses have been disappointing me.
This is drop and hook 53' shuttle, no touch, same thing every day. Which is a little boring but I need a steady check, the run is a few hours then I get out. I'm fine with the DD13 but the auto that goes with those will be disappointing.
I delivered and installed appliances for a hardware store out of high school, back when the old ones were heavy steel monsters that had just blown a fuse but they wanted to sell a new one. Enough of that. Along with cutting/threading pipe, unloading Sakrete flatbeds, assembling mowers, fixing screens and windows. That last mile I'd be really good at but I won't touch it.
In general I'm a bit shy about dealing with another big corp, know too much about the other side of the desk.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
How long have you been driving? Tickets, accidents?
