The drivers I know at Steven's who had experience and left the industry for some time had to go through a sort of refresher course. While I was in training there were experienced drivers going through a portion of what I went through as a new driver. Steven's, from what was explained to me, requires a very thorough work history, no lapses in employment history (meaning listing unemployment on your application to fill gaps will be required), and verifiable mileage for experienced drivers. Come prepared for a very tedious proving process if you go that route. If you have no contact info for previous employers, the process can be slightly more time consuming. Went through it very recently and it's still fresh in my head. Hope the information helps.
Are you not wanting to go through a refresher course? I'm pretty sure that there are absolutely no carriers out there that are going to hire you without requiring you to do some sort of refresher course because you have been out of a truck for so long. Swift may tell you that they will work with you but I'm sure you will end up at the Swift academy before you are turned loose in a truck by yourself.
