Good luck with that, with the way truck prices have shot up over the past year, new and used. Not to mention the parts are in short supply! It’s not as easy as getting a truck and go. Plus, the start up costs for your own authority has gone through the roof as well.teams567, bzinger and Veteran driver Thank this.

One day while bored, I opened YouTube and low and behold Hurricane Express popped up. I forget the username but every other word was the “F” word, I stopped watching after 2 minutes. Classy, professional driver.
bzinger Thanks this. -
Was it directed towards the company, owner, lack of income to feed his family after paying for all those lights or having the pleasure of running into Hunts Point on a regular basis?

Sad part is Hurricane has been getting away with this as long as I can remember. Just like Prime, JCT, and the rest of them.
The information is out there yet drivers continue to fall for these lease scams. -
As the saying goes...there's a sucker born every minute.Tall Mike Thanks this.

There's a saying, that say's that? Since when?
ya know, I need to get out more..... -
Is nothing new. When I started in the 80's guys were taking a 25% pay cut to drive a Pete hood.
When Prime first exploded in the early 90's, they advertised ungoverned trucks (these were still mechanical engines) . The fine print was they were very short-geared (4.33, IIRC) to keep the speeds reasonable. The CEO also plainly stated in interviews with the industry press that their business model was outside investors taking part of the profit from each truck. In an industry with very high operating ratios, that money came right out of the driver's already slim profits.
They still grew by leaps and bounds.
The simple rule is, if you're paying substantially more for the truck than the company, you're getting fleeced.bzinger, Lonesome and Triumph mc. Thank this.
