Why is Conway TL putting Freight over Driver Saftey??? Take this as you wish as I'm just a third party...

I have a buddy who they sent into a shipper Monday to pick up pre loaded TRL ...below I-10 in LA below New Orleans..he got there at 3pm an hour after they evacuated (mandatory )
So he drives up to Hammond la ....spend the night on his break then calls in to be told "oh we hv to get you out of there"....so D/H up to Jackson MS.....this gets better...

So Tuesday he get a pre plan.....9am TODAY pick up @ same shipper same load ....below new I-12 on I-10.....in the middle of hurricane Issac!!!

He got Qualcomm MSG saying they think it will be"OK"

He has gotten about 800 mi since last Friday ...time to wake up Conway before good drivers start quiting....but I forget they got 5 new fresh out of school in boot camp to replace him with....

this is called truck driving. I do believe the people in Bangor Maine still would like to eat Monday morning after it snowed all day Sunday. I cant decide not to drive in Kansas in april because Toto might blow away
And yes I drove around Fla last 3 days 30 mph going south on fla turnpike
backed into Cargill cold storage at Port of Everglades a foot of standing water on my steer tires
should i have said I will be back when the puddle is gone?

60+ mph winds and flooding is much different than 30 mph in FL with no tropical storm...and you can't compare a snow storm with a hurricane ...I went threw charley 2004 and Wilma ...and those peep in Bangor are fat enough a few more days won't hurt them

During a natural disaster if you haul for FEMA the logs are pretty much worthless, in regards to your post the company is trying to keep the driver safe.

Hmm, my company Deadheaded me 200 miles to get me out of Louisiana. Not bad for my "bottom feeder" company.

What does logging have to do with them trying to dispatch him into a hurricane? Even on FEMA you don't drive into the hurricane , you get in before or after...
