when i dispatched the problem i had with teams were the traffic lanes dispatched meat to calf from the midwest and produce back. about 3500 miles round trip but too many miles for two rounds. would look for company that has freight on both coasts that way you only have to load and unload once a week. loading and unloading sometimes really hurt teams. maybe a airfreight company might be a good option if you can find one you like. lots of luck
Husband and wife team looking for good companies

We have some pretty lucrative team freight at LS and some normally priced stuff as well. I would stay the course getting on with LS. It always takes a while, and seems to take even longer for folks that haven't bought a truck.
Here's a write up on one of our specialized teams. Nice couple, I met them before they had this truck. Do you think they pull cheap freight?http://www.overdriveonline.com/prof...07-22-2013&utm_campaign=OVD&ust_id=2b3ff0d48a -
Thank you for the response. We were figuring that was part of the reason it was taking so long. The biggest hang up we have right now, is the carrier we are currently with will not verify any of our information UNTIL we quit. I have called Landstar, and have gotten different answers. first we were told that we would be pre-qualified after drug screen, truck paperwork, truck inspection and could then sign up for orientation, but would not be officially hired until our carrier verified our info.
This morning I was just told, that we would not be pre qualified at all until we got all information from current carrier, plus all of the above. So it looks like we will have to quit in order to find out if we will get hired or not. I am very nervous about quitting my current carrier, without having somewhere else to go.
any suggestions? greatly appreciate the feedback!! -
I would go up the chain above your recruiter. Ask for supervisor after supervisor until you get your answers.

Lady K,
Just an update, we happened to find a small trucking company, which pays good. The owner of the company himself came out, introduced himself and gave us an interview today. We just happened upon them. They only have fifty trucks, but we were impressed with how they introduced themselves, and took time out of their day to speak with us. Maybe look for smaller trucking companies where you are a name and not a number?
We found out about them through the Kenworth dealership we have been working with. They knew we were having a hard time with the hiring processes and our current company. This smaller company buys a lot of trucks through them, maybe build a relationship up with a truck dealership and see if they know of any smaller trucking companies they work with. Just a thought! Hope you are doing well!Lady K and The Challenger Thank this. -
Good luck in your search CC. Hopefully you guys will find a good company where you can get a good fresh start. If the owner of the company does not wind up hiring you, i'd look strongly at Farm2Fleet. There is a couple on here doing well with them. Anne and Craig. Craig goes by NoCoCraig on this forum.

My wife and I are happy at Landstar. We don't do many team loads, since my wife doesn't like running hard. But you might be able to keep yourself busy doing fedex and ups. They are also begging people to do central freight doubles here in Dallas.
We pick our loads. It is not hard.We make money. My wife smiles more since we started hauling Landstar freight.
NoCoCraig Thanks this. -
It took us forever to get the paperwork right.
Somehow you can get set up without having to quit first ...... somehow.
