Apparently you believe speeding is only warranted for you and your family needs? -
35 on an interstate for trucks only when cars can do...65 or 70 i think it is?
I mean, yeah, there's times when you need to go that slow, but god, if you're empty...why?!
There's a grade somewhere on I90 in montana that has a truck speed limit of 25. The worst part is that the speed limit gradually decreases...while the grade starts going down steeper and steeper. What the hell kind of moron puts these signs up?
There's a little pull off you have to stop at and read a sign before going down, and it tells how many truckers have died on that grade....Yeah, I can see why. It gives you a false sense of security, oh its not that steep...HOLY SHEEEEET!!!!!!
Kinda like a decreasing radius turn!
But if they mentioned that on the friggin sign.....what a bunch of fools. -
_Please, oh Please tell me that YOU'RE kiddin' ME!!! (Read "US")
That alarms me.
I'm serious.
No kidding.
Perhaps I'm readin' it wrong.
Would you expound on that to clarify which parts of "why" you think are a joke?

All cops have radar. Does that mean you hate all cops? Laser is becoming more common, do you hate laser cops too?
I agree with you anyway... -
If the state was "nice" enough to put a sign up that tells you how many drivers died on that "hill" then it would be in your best interests to decide that "highway" speeds just aren't in the books for the next few miles! Even if the sign only showed you the turns and grades then you should still be figuring that 35 MPH for the next couple of miles won't hurt you that bad as I KNOW you have some kind of buffer on your time for just such a slowdown! Besides it's better to be a little late than never arriving! Or paying a ticket you should have known you would get for doing faster than a down hill grade that's marked with a slower speed. And so what if the 4 wheelers are still going 65 or better? They have a much better chance of slowing down than you do! Remember the mantra of "4 wheelers think we can stop on a dime?" Well we can't and we darn sure aren't on a 6% or higher hill! Ain't happening in MY life time or even some of you way younger drivers! Those piddling few minutes of going slow just might mean you get another day of having air go in and air go out of your body!
AfterShock Thanks this. -
We ran that hill many years before all the truck lanes and death signs.
Run up as fast as you can,run down the same way.
Best I recall 50-55 coming down empty,
running down loaded was 40-50 depending on traffic.
Alot less traffic and a better class of drivers allowed for it.
I'm sure there are some stats some where showing when the "stunt drivers" started graduating and the stat takers started clicking.
1985-90 would be a safe guess . . . . . . .Tyler Derden Thanks this. -
sounds like he does not care about the rules' i mean come on 2 tixs in the same place 2 weeks in a row wow it sounds like maybe he needs to come off the road and go back to school and learn how to read a signs.
