Okay, I am going to step off the pedestal of behaving like a Lady here, and just be blunt.

If you are going down that section of Grapevine at anything more than 35mph, you are risking the life of every driver out there! My husband and my friends and sometimes me and I don't like it. I have no desire to be a widow because someone else chose to go too fast down that grade! The sign that says 35 mph is about the size of a Sedan DeVille, and it is for a very good reason! That stretch of Interstate 5 is a killer, LITERALLY.

brother, i'm telling ya....i said the same thing....called and checked- it is as they put it, "conidered a moving violation and will cost you two points"
-So I wrote their representitive in government in that area askig him why he would be willing to mar my perfect MVR when I feed my family with this licnsence. - no reply of course
-Then called the 'diversion'....DA I'd assume....and they 'checked and decided to let me divert.'
-When I sent in the ticket- I put in my opionion of how this was a scam and they needed to use the money to create more parking for big trucks in Indiana....
-It took 3 phone calls and I don't know how many months to get the receip back they promised showing it had been diverted.

I AGREE 100%, IT IS NOT A MOVING VIOLATION- ITS A #### MONEY RACKET.

    "State of Indiana
    vs.
    Faber"
    Agreement for withheld prosecution.

PENDELTON TOWN COURT ----(the state troopers run down the road writing these tickets- and are in a hurry doing it, then put you thru a court in Pendleton).

It is condidered; "Parking on the Interstate."

    My 'diversion' ends 4/14/2009
Took the ticket from $100 to $175.

    In Madison County
Prosecuting Attorny; Thomas J Brudenuk Jr.
    Cause no. 48102

Believe me, I was pissed....I've got a LE degree....I never heard of such bull ####. I even wrote ooida.....contacted the gov. representitive, told the DA's office or money recipeint it was a scam. And if they hadn't let me divert it (which is of course what they will do- cause it would barely hold water in court and they only want $) I would have fought it tooth an nail.

Check into it yourself......their #### ing truckers left and right.

-Oh, I need to add, with all do respect....just because you spent so many years in LE doesn't mean u can 'guarentee' anything. It doesn't make you aware of everything, or the scams and crap that actual Law Enf. and gov. are pulling to screw truckers.....it does exist and this is one of them. Somehow they figured a way to justify this and make it a cash flow. Now if it would be fightable in court I don't know, but if I hadn't diverted it, I would have found out.

    Here is a link to the court with a number at the bottom;

    http://www.town.pendleton.in.us/court.htm

They are a pain in the ### to get a person on the phone....but should you decide that you have an intrest in pushing this further....sign me up. And of course I can only repeat what their government officials told me.....so either it is 'considered a moving violaton' and you would be best off diverting it, or their officials tell you that to get more $. Either way its a load of ####.

also if u still dont believe me that they are telling truckers this/ or doing it...
    you can call; 765-641-9585
-tell them you got sited for parking on a ramp, are a cdl holder, and ask if it really is considered a moving violation
-also you can call the same number and ask to speak with "Hana" which is the lady whom the information goes thru to consider you for a 'diversion'

    Hey Faber -

I agree with you that this should not be a moving violation. Don't know how they can possibly justify that.

Now, would you please educate me? What is a "LE Degree" and where did you get it? I'm just curious.

    Faber Thanks this.

Law Enforcement degree....ie; admj. law enf. as opposed to admj. corrections.....administration of justice with a major in Law Enforcement instead of Corrections.
-I spent my first year at Washburn in Topeka, Ks. Then screwed up college and had the pleasure doing it the hard way. I did concrete demolition, tarring basements, taking gasoline baths, digging 10ft. holes in the ground to patch basement walls by hand, bucketing concrete up flights of stairs, wheelbarrowing wet/dry concrete (they weighed 70 pounds-empty), jackhammer, basicaly busting my ### doing jobs my boss would bid high on cause no other company would do it.....while commuting to college at night to finish my degree at JCCC in Olathe, Ks.
-JCCC is only a two year school if you can go full time, but they have their own section built stricly for LE and are also certified for training actual officers (ie; the rich police departments send their recruits their for training), its one of the richest counties in the country (yeah, I fit in....as long as noone saw what I drove- Ha!). So they had some good teachers; had classes taught by a negotiatioins officer out of Topeka, a DA, other officers, and with undercover drug inforcement. It was interesting experience.

admj. LE - administration of justice- Law Enf.
admj. C - administration of justice -Corrections
    LEO - Law Enforcement Officer
DEA-u know all these- Drug Enforcement Agent, ect., ect.

Basically, all this means is that I've sat in a classroom with people determined to have the education/experience to teach at a good LE college....but I don't have a bit of real world experience.

just wanted to add, i agree with all on tha danger of this section of grapevine......there is a warning b4 actually getting 2 grade, that speed reduction is ahead (55 to 45), then the actual posted 45mph, short decline till u reach 35mph posted, all trucks plus trucks only lane.
i agree with all on keeping posted speed as this is, as stated a dangerous grade, especially loaded, even with "jake". underestimation is a problem, leads to acidents, death. we all should overstand the dangers of grades (brake fading, etc.) please be safe cuz we can't take errors back, when it's done it's done.............take care

OK thanks. Where I am from it was just an AA in Criminal Justice. Same basic idea, just different terminology.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled thread.
