So we have been reading reviews ,forums etc.. Man our heads are spinning! Not many trucking jobs are hiring in our area..(Northern California) Swift, Werner, Central, Schneider, and may trucking.. We have looked into all of them. What do you all recommend, or have you worked for any of these companies? What did you think etc?? Or maybe we are missing a few companies? Know of any other? Definitely want to find something soon! Thank you in advance! :)

Check with Gordon, I talked to a drive that just came out of school 9 years ago and she was really happy with Gordon. That was a long time ago and things have change but it would be worth giving them a try. Believe they were sold recently but do not remember who bought them.

What about Watkins and Shepard? They are in Missoula Mt. 10 Day Orientation and training and away he goes in a truck BY HIMSELF! They keep very good tabs on you they give you a whole book of what ifs and who to call if this happens! Good starter, wherever he goes be sure he doesn't jump ship before the 1 year mark, if he does it will have been all for not! These companies don't like it if you jump to many ships.

His first company will not be his last company. All he has to do is survive the first year. He is going to hate being alone and away from the family. You are going to have to survive yourself. Do not tell him about all the day to day problems you are having as he will be on the road and can't do a thing about it. Keep a list of problems that he can deal with once he gets back but don't make him feel guilty about being on the road and away from you.

The first year he is in a war zone. Lots of back stabbing and office politics. Tell him to keep his head down and just survive. It gets better quickly after the first year.

Okay thank you! Yes I stay pretty busy, managing the house and taking care of our children! Definitely know it will be hard for the first year, but we can do it. :p We have read some real horror stories with trucking! We have tons of scenarios in our heads that could happen..Hoping for the best though! Thank you for the advice, I will give him the heads up. We are hoping he will find something something local after 1 - 1.5 years of experience.
