depends on who ya run for....teams can make .50 per mi now or more....but do they have the miles??? we used to make 1200 a wk each net years ago.....we get % now...and it AINT all that...but we have a nice truck...which is stupid to some i know..but i have health issues and NEED this type of truck (good riding truck..cant handle the bouncin around infreightliners...).....a good team ought to be able to CLEAR 1000. a wk each min. as company drivers...EASY....

Are you saying a team (Husband & Wife) should CLEAR 100K a year? To me CLEAR means net (take home NOT gross) If you're saying a Husband and Wife can pocket 100K a year....Please, keep talking. I'm listening.

If you ran hard and I mean hard no time off and only quick 34 restarts you could possibly make what gigs says. Its not easy and you have.to have the right mind set and drive to do it.

for a team you can do what we call a rolling restart...where you are only down 24 hrs....example...say you are headed to dallas...you stop and your co driver takes over 10 hrs out from dallas.... you goes in the sleeper...starts your 10 hr break....then you get to dallas and co driver drops or del. or whatever then you begin your 24 hr period off...at the end of that 24 hrs ...you now have 34 hrs off ...restart....then you drive their first 10 hrs...thus giving your co driver the final 10 hrs needed to complete their 34 hrs off and now thier restart is up.....but you were only down 24 hrs....

I would imagine. You ain't gonna clear 100K easy. Next question. If you kept things tight on the budget, how much could we realistically sock away every year?

well honey it depends on your bills.....you should be able to NET 80,000 after time off and road exp...but then you gotta deduct your bills from that....next thing is finding a carrier paying good money and have big miles....

I have spent the last few days reading this thread, still not through with it...I am on page 60 out of 250 pages!! Its about a solo driver who started out striaght out of school buying his own truck and getting his own authority and hauling loads with no prior experience whatsoever....and the misadventures that followed! Very good info for folks looking to O/O, and very entertaining as well! though not a team, there is still lots of general trucking info that teams need to know also.

I was afraid of that....right now we make about 80K EACH in our current jobs. We probably are gonna have to wait till the mortgage is paid off and Len can retire (without loosing anything) before we dive into this. Thats only about 3 years away....gives me plenty of time to learn!
