Hi everyone. My wife and I have made the big decision to become team drivers. We have no children and do not own a home. We want to pay down all of our debts and save for retirement and a better life. I got my CDL through a independent school last year and my wife will have to get trained. We were offered a job with CR England. We're thrilled as all the other companies (STARR, Covenent, US Express, CRST) we applied for have not even gotten back to us. Anyhow, we have read so many horror stories on CRE but it's unclear if the people having these bad experiences are....
1. Team or solo drivers
2. Company drivers or Leesees
Are there any husband and wife teams working for CRE with anything good to say? What's it like team driving for them as company drivers? We have no interest in leasing a truck and we are going to have them train my wife at their school in Indiana. I'm taking their refresher course. Any advice or input is welcome!

I'm not a team driver, just an ol' driver saying Welcome !!
I'm sure some fine folks will have some answers for you shortly !!! -
Proverbs 3:35 - "The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools"
Thank you for your help. Being newbies we're doing our research and CRE just fell off our list. They truly are liars. -
JustT2OfUs - I'm not a driver, my wife and I are in the same position you are - looking for a place to go as a team. The only two I have heard of that will train you as a team are CR England, and Covenant. If you hear of any others that will do so, please post it here, as I would be very interested in knowing about them.

You have 2 options . You could both go to school and start together or the husband only could go to school and try to team with an experienced expediter for a while to get to know the business . Expediting carriers allow drivers to train the spouse . -
Have you heard anything good about Prime, Inc.? They say they will bring me on, do 60,000 mile training for my self, then I go solo for 6weeks approx., and I can bring my wife as a passenger. From there, with the blessing of my fleet mgr., I would be able to qualify as a trainer and train her since they do not have co-ed training (no female trainers to pair her with). From there we would be able to go team. Any input or experience with this?

We looked into Covenant and they told us they didn't provide company training for her to get her CDL. Let me know if they told you something different. -
Seemed a little odd to me, but hey, they own the place, right? You might give them a call....from what I've read here, they're a pretty good company!

Hey JustT2Ofus! I read something this a.m. about CRST's "Spouse Training Program". At least I think it was CRST. I'll double check. If it's another carrier, I'll post the info here. Good luck, Oldnew....
