A few days ago and ways delayed I was on highway 77 going threw that check point and they had a X ray set up, that ever truck had to go threw. The line was so backed up i lost over 1 1/2 hours of time in there. Now it looks like i will be having to go back threw there soon, does anyone know how long the X ray will be there or if going out up threw McAllen and taking the other check point will be faster. the other way adds 30 mins. Yet I don't know if they have the X ray there too. if so it wouldn't help going that way.

I used to go through a big X-ray when I was in Iraq when returning to base. But it was so powerful that you had to get out of the truck and it was remote-controlled across the cab and length of the trailer. If you had picked up a weapon somewhere, they would find it. I wonder if that's what they're doing in TX. Of course, TX is a gun friendly state so more likely they're looking for drugs.

Yes I believe so, being that it is only going on, on the north bound lanes. But use it if the dogies alerts first. that would save a lot of time. just had to go back thew it this morning(it took 2 hours) I think they are going to keep it up till Christmas which suxs I have two more times i will pass there before then.

Are you talking about the X-ray machine they drive around your truck?
Both checkpoints on Hwy 77 and Hwy 281 have them. I have never seen them check all trucks with that. Usually check the truck if the dog smells something. -
Yes, it is a mobile truck that takes about 3 mins. to drive along your truck then they spend another 5 to 10 mins. looking over the pitcher to see what is in the back your if you got a low boy like me i think they must be looking for a hidden compartment. but it is pain in the A. I hope they shut it down soon it is making it hard for me. i always time my trip so i have a few hours to spend with this chick in LA. on my way to Fl. but now i only have less than 1 hour that is only time to eat not work it out. and the is making the trip a stressful one.

I don't think they are going to stop doing that. They have been doing that for the past few of years.

yea, but it was random, the customs guy said it may go on till Christmas. he said he hopes it stops soon to but the president wants it on for now it was going to be only for thanksgiving weekend but they were told to keep it going till they get enough complaints because it is not legal without the dog alerting first or some other form of probable cause.
