I deliver to Las Vegas from back east on I-40. I usually go Kingman to Las Vegas on Hwy 93. When I empty out I come back on Hwy 93 and usually stop at Railroad Pass Casino/Travel Center in Henderson, NV. It's maybe 60-90 minutes from LV. Grand Canyon Lodge is a little closer to LV, but I don't hink it has as much truck parking as Railroad Pass.
It's a hundred times better than the TA in Vegas for being clean. You can buy a shower in the building near the gas pumps. The cafe and buffet/restaurant in the casino are much nicer/cleaner than any truck stop restaurant, but not uncomfortably nice. jeans and boots are OK.

The only problem I notice beside Hwy 93 maaking Arkansas seem smooth near Kingman, is the road is so new my GPS get confused and wants me to exit at every exit. Part of it is already Interstate 11(?) and part will someday be part of Interstate 11 (?).

What Las Vegas traffic lacks in volume, compared to Atlanta, the drivers make up for with aggression and erratic speed changes.

The bypass around Boulder City is very smooth.

My RM GPS does the same thing. And that road has been there for over a year.
How long until they update it?!

    tscottme Thanks this.

Yes. The road close to NV is brand spanking new.

How long until the CA-58 just before Barstow, CA is in the RM database? That's another place where the GPS has a seizure.

The RM also calculates a 55 MPH truck speed as 60 MPH in places like CA. Why is that? Do they simply assume we are speeding? Or are they just too lazy to do the math properly to give us an accurate ETA at the posted speed.
