Howdy x1Heavy,
I have climbed and gone down Cabbage many times, but not during the winter months, it sure is a beautiful view going down west bound when you come around the curve and if the weather is right I swear you can see at least 50 miles.
I have chains for the truck, I do need to pick up some drag chains for the trailer, I up graded from 16 inch wheels to a larger commercial grade tire and 17.5 wheels on the trailer so my old chains a bit small. This will be the first winter trip with my wife, she just retired from being a school teacher so now we finally get to escape from the Nor-Wet for a while, heading to Quartzsite Arizona to soak up some sun and do some desert riding with the toys.

I have only driven 93 once and that was three months ago, my memory is shorter then my pee pee so I don't recall seeing a wrecked truck along that route.

I’m still trying to figure out what happened there.

Two years ago going east bound down Boseman Pass in Montana, in early October there was ice and snow on the road, not much but enough to get your attention, no chains were required but SLOW was the word of the day.
I was following a Kenworth dragging a flat bed loaded with steel rod, when we crested the grade and started going down the other side I went SLOWER, the Kenworth sped up a bit. I watched that truck jackknife going around one of the curves, the only thing I could figure out was that he had his Jake set on high, as it didn't look like he hit the brakes but suddenly the truck slowed and the trailer just pushed it over to the side of the road into and over the guard rail, luckily this all happened at less then 20mph, I was only doing about 10, no one hurt but it sure messed up the truck.
That old saying about being able to go down the mountain a 1,000 times SLOW and only once fast sure is something to keep in mind.

I run Phoenix to Portland every week ... and live in Havasu. If moderate to heavy snow is in the forcast, best thing to do is wait it out. NV DOT can clean up the road after the weather, but during they have neither the equipment or manpower.
This winter has been crazy with Fog / ICE Fog between Twin Falls and McGill.
If you have not made the trip yet, any time up till Thursday evening should be great travel weather.Mr. Cob Thanks this.
