    Well, yes and no. They can dry the brine as salt and sell it to all the norther states for road salt and recoup some of the cost. Plus, expensive water is better than no water. Honestly, they can all starve for all I care.

    The Saudi's have invented a desalinization process that mines the lithium out of seawater, and the value of the lithium is high enough to make it economical.

    Salt and fresh water are the convenient by products of the process.
