Little starship troopers reference.
I delivered some empty shipping containers to Denver this morning, rate was great, no waiting at shipper or receiver. All gravy.
But I spent the rest of the day on the boards looking for something outta here. I found 4 or 5 loads I would take but I couldn’t come to an agreement on rate with the brokers. Admittedly, I wouldn’t go below $1.80/mile (I can go 1.40/mile and still make the bread). One of the loads is still getting refreshed on the board so I’ll try again in the morning on that one.
This is the first time in 8 months I’ve been running that I stuck it out for the higher rate and the anxiety is REAL. In the back of my mind I knew tomorrow is Friday so I should be able to find something before the weekend.
But I have family with a nice house I’m staying at and we went out hiking and biking today. So I’m not stuck in the truck at a pilot or anything like that.
I’m doing my part to raise the rates! I know it really doesn’t mean #### in the grand scheme but it’s all I can do.
PS- The Colorado scenery and family time was worth a day of not moving.
I’m doing my part

I wish, 1150 mile trip paid $2500. Was $2450 but they sent me to the wrong shipper at first which cost about a half hour of my time. BUTTTT them shipping containers kill my fuel economy and they were the beefy floor containers, 2x20’ weighed in right under 14k lbs.
