I’m looking at a 2007 KW with a CAT C15 475 HP, is the C15 a good motor?

Appreciate your reply boss. It’s a 2007 KW W900L for 60k. I don’t think we’re gonna go even look at it, also another thing, has 977k miles, no motor paperwork. Guy said it was rebuilt but no proof.

No paper work? Not rebuilt. You're smart to pass on it.

I've heard rumors that that engine cost $30,000 to rebuild right now... If someone else can verify

My 3406e (it's practically the same as the C15) cost me a little over 20k last Winter to rebuild.

i wouldn’t pass on it just for not having paper work, but I wouldn’t be giving him top dollar for it either, but you always buy a used truck knowing it needs a motor/trans/rear going into it.

I’ve got 26k in my n14 but the only thing original is the block and crank.

I'd pass on it because the seller is obviously a liar and therefore morally bankrupt.

I guess that's true. Anything is possible. I'm just not as optimistic as you. I'm a pessimist that grew up in a nasty urban environment so I assume he's a lying dirt bag trying to rip off an unsuspecting naive buyer. If I wanted the truck I'd offer 30k less than his asking price to cover a rebuild. 100 dollars says seller will see it as a rude low ball offer regardless.

I’m right in the same ball park of how much less I would offer him, although I’m sure In this market 6 more idiots will be lined up behind me to pay asking price for it, (then come on here and ##### when they have problems with it)

you can always walk away with your money still in your pocket too.
