I saw the sign that says use bypass when flashing. Is this for when there's storm surge during a hurricane or just general flooding?

No, there are wrecks there all the time and is an easy way to get around. That stretch of 10 been under construction for about ten yrs between Beaumont and Orange. There have been some hellish backups there over the yrs.

Also when OS/OW most of my permits routed my around Beaumount as well. Also,.. IIRC they have a curfew for OS/OW as well.
