it's been going on all along i-10 from texas to california. it's probably something having to do with drug smuggling. it's not just state troopers, chp, or dps pulling the trucks over, either. it's been sheriffs, constables, and local fellas.

la migra is also going after people driving passenger vehicles. while i was driving to the la area in my pov, i was lit up by la migra near desert center. i pulled to an off-ramp, they came out, asked where i was headed, asked me about all my bags, and told/asked me if it's okay that they search through my belongings. i said, "yes" to it. if i had said "no," they would have called for a k-9 unit.

they did a thorough job on going through my stuff. in the end, they found nothing, and actually helped by putting everything back the way they found it.

How the hell does that even remotely justify a multi state police action on that scale? OMG POT! ARREST EVERYTHING!!!1!

drugs aren't a problem for mexico. they're an american problem.

when it came to my butt being pulled over and searched, i knew what it could have been about. about midway through the search, their attitude toward me seemed to have change, and then they started shooting the crap during and after. they were asking me questions about trucking, the ports, and what not. a couple of them were asking seemingly innocent questions. as i was driving off into the moonlight, it dawned on me why they were asking me stupid questions. they were seeing how i'd respond. i know they're trained in detecting things while questioning or speaking to somebody. i had nothing to hide. i wasn't doing anything illegal, so i had/have nothing to worry about.

I am one of those who have no problem with this,,it is part of life in this day and age, that anyone,,,including a trucker, could be smuggling drugs or weapons or illegal aliens.as long as there is respect for our belongings during the process AND it is done in a timely manner,,it should be appreciated instead of being something to complain about. If it means less dope on the street, less guns in the hands of gangs, less illegals roaming our cities,,,try thanking the cop, instead of whining about losing 21 minutes from your day

Except that there isn't less dope on the street, less illegals going wherever they please, or less guns for whoever wants them (though the last one is fine, actually.)
