I-40 in NC to reopen…

Left lane closed 1 mile.

Immediately most people go into the left lane in hopes of cutting people off at last second causing a back up for miles.

Happens every time

 

I hope they’re not rushing to reopen. Mother Nature is having fun in that area. 6-8 inches of rain forecasted this week & more on the way. It’s the rainy season. A couple years ago, east TN got about 20” in one month.

 

Unrelated question; do you know if the Beantrees Cafe in Hartford was decimated by the floods & are they gonna reopen? I stopped in there years ago & the food and service was great. Looks were deceiving but what a great place!

 

The Bean Trees and the BP Pigeon River Smokehouse got hit really hard, buildings are still there, not seen any progress on either other than equipment pulled out and sitting outside. Have not heard what their plans are but you are 100% spot on Bean Trees is awesome with great people, it's our locals little hidden Gem!

 

That is when they zip in at the last possible moment trying to be just one vehicle ahead of the last poor smuck that failed to make the cutoff.

 

It will be a cluster. I will still go around. There will be crashes, sweat pants and flip flops strewn all over kingdom come. No thanks.

I've taken my 10 at that little fuel stop, MANY times. nice and quiet.
