ok. then freeway is not going to be closed. That's good I was thinking to take I-19 south . I will try to pass that portion at night to avoid heavy backups.
I-40 to be closed first weekend in October at Bellemont interchange

There is a old mountain route SW of Flagstaff. I don't have the details in mind anymore but it is possible to force a 18 wheeler through there.
That route is such a important road to the Nation with winter coming. They better hurry up with that bridge deck.mhyn Thanks this. -
I stopped at the PFJ just east of Gallup on Wednesday late afternoon, and they're paving all along there. The traffic stopped about 5 miles before my exit, and as I sat there I looked in my side mirror and watched a FedEX truck plow into stopped traffic, cross the median and wind up in facing west in the eastbound lanes. It closed both directions for most of the night. Got to my prime parking spot and watched the circus for a couple hours as trucks looked for places to park.

I just passed Bellemont, AZ . It's noon now. I had planned to pass this area at night but Twin Arrows Casino changed my schedule... So I have an update:
No backup on westbound
6 miles backup on eastbound.Last edited: Oct 5, 2019
