I was sitting in line about 12 miles south of that tuesday. Had no idea it was that horrendous. Big hazmat cleanup. Thanks for sharing that.

sorry I can't agree with the Canadian comment.

i will say that with the large number of new driver mill recruits entering the industry while the seasoned drivers are leaving in droves I am noticing a lot more truck on truck tailgating , along with lack of use of turn signals, refusal to dim lights, riding the hammer lane even when they can't go more than 40, trucks cutting off other trucks for sport, ect.

the courtesy drivers have always given to other drivers is going down with the level of experience in the industry

Rick you seem to paint us all with the same brush.....Yes some (US and Can. drivers) tailgate too much. I travel that stretch every week and all I see is "hotdogs" running 80 mph+. We are all governed at 65 mph due to our wimpy government giving into the majority vote which is the whinning 4 wheels that the trucks drive too fast. I don't specifically separate a group of people and say they are bad drivers. Its a problem that exists on both sides of the creek.

Ask anybody that runs I-75 and I-94 as well as Ontario . Your governed trucks pass me all the time in MI where the truck speed limit is 60 m.p.h. . The majority of Canadian truck drivers are reckless and disregard speed limits . Same thing when the speed limit loers approaching the Blue Water Bridge . Canadian drivers blow on past those observing the speed limit . I love it when one pon the planet .
Your "all I see is "hotdogs" running 80 mph+." comment is pure nonsense . Not a bit of truth to it .

Your proof is ? I think that's a very poor comment. There are good and bad drivers everywhere period.

Some O/O have not governed their trucks or have a ECU program that over rides the speed limiter. All of our trucks are governed at 65Mph.

As for the whinning 4 wheelers, let them whine. Now they are whining that trucks are going to slow causing traffic jams on the 401 between Windsor and Milton also the strech between Pickering and Quebec. I drove one of our trucks to Montreal, it took me 45 minutes to pass 10 trucks.

Everyone who drives slower than I is a wussy! Everyone who drives faster than I is insane! Same old story everywhere. Tailgaters, and eratic/inattentive drivers are the ones causing the bulk of the trouble. In other countries, Germany in particular, the real fines are levied for "failure to signal intentions", and "failure to maintain adequate separation". Huge fines are imposed for such infractions. "Speeding" is seldom a problem. However, driving too fast for conditions should warrant a good spanking! "Conditions" include "heavy traffic", and, this is for YOU, LTL/wiggle-wagon hauler, "CONSTRUCTION ZONES". I am an O/O. I DO step it up when ALL conditions allow for it. I DO slow down in heavy traffic, and construction zones, and when someone is on the shoulder for WHATEVER REASON! As, a state trooper is, like me, and every other truck driver, a man trying to make a living. He is someone's father/husband/son/grandson! Period! He, and everyone else on the road deserves the right to live, and go home to their families everyday. WHY?!?! Why, I ask, is this even up for debate?!?! Drive safely!! And, think well in advance of your surroundings!! YOU asked for a CDL. Now, YOU have the responsibility to act professionally. If you are in a limited truck @65mph trying to pass a limited truck @64.5mph in "heavy traffic", you are creating a safety hazard. the six mile pass is a big problem. Other than that, I don't care how fast, or slow anyone goes. Just let everybody know what you are doing. And, I don't mean with your cb radio. I rarely listen to all that crap, anyway. You, or your company paid for a truck with lights on it. Use them!

You know, sometimes, I believe you are tainted on this.

I run Canada, and I do not see the same as you do.

I run the same areas of the country that you do and do not see much more tailgating by them compared to the American nut case drivers who drive the trucks like cars.

As far as the 80 mph trucks, I see them. ALL of them are from the US.

Your rants about Canada drivers get tiresome.
