I-684 question

    Does 684 from 287 to 84 allow trucks I know new York is weird about certain roads so just trying to make sure before I use it tomorrow

    Yes but depending on the day it's might be easier to do 287-87 north directly to 84

    You need to take the Tappan Zee or cross over at the Newbergh. Its got to be both cheaper than the GWB I-95 plus the time of day traffic gridlock doing battle with a whole city worth of traffic wanting home or work.

    I-684 to me is not worth the potential hassle or toll. I'll do a bit of fuel burn and get up to 84 before the Hudson. In terms of risk management it's easier. Not everyone is able to deal with the cross bronx.

    It's part of the Interstate system so no problem with the possible exception of say Hazmat. Here in Little Rock I-30 is prohibited downtown.

    What you do need to watch for and avoid is "Parkways" in both NY and NJ. most of the time the overpasses on those roads do not fit a semi.

    long island has a lot of parkways .and sometimes the same exit, you have to be alert.
