I-75 two semis collide

    SARASOTA COUNTY: An accident that happened around 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning has had the southbound lanes of I-75 closed between mile marker 193 and 191 for at least 5 hours.
    This is just south of Jacaranda Boulevard in Sarasota County.
    According to the Florida Highway Patrol, two semi trucks collided - one is being called completely destroyed and burned.

    No word has been released on whether anyone was injured.

    Traffic is currently being diverted off the highway and onto U.S. 41 as crews clear the scene.

    glad i got off that road at Valdosta last night!!! LOL it was also backed up for about 30 miles from the 285 split south of ATL. i went down US 41/19 and sailed right on by!!! LOL

    BTW, if you ever decide to cut through "the woods" MAKE SURE THE ROAD IS A HIGHLIGHTED TRUCK ROUTE!!!! I THOUGHT "AHH IT IS ONLY 6 MILES FROM 75 TO 41/19" SO I JUMPED OFF AT X-228 AND LOW And behold i had to make 3 tight turns in a little bitty town to go that six miles down a supposedly straight shot!!
