I-80 open between Laramie and Sidney

I was finally able to leave Wamsutter today. Roads were ok with variable speed limits in place with the lowest being 45.

Icy spots visible heading east from Wamsutter to Laramie, Wyoming.

For some reason, Google maps showed 80 east from Laramie to Cheyenne as being closed. It wasn't.

Road conditions on that stretch of 80 east are good. Only a few millennials had trouble staying on the road.


Speed limit was 75 east of Cheyenne with no icy road conditions present.

I was asked by a friendly Canadian driver at my fuel stop in Sidney if 80 west was open since his gps indicated road closures. It was.

So, Google maps just lost some trucker cred. Be safe out there.

 

Looks like you took the high ground for this photo. Were you headed towards Laramie?

 

I like Nebraska since its easy to find parking away from other trucks.
