As of 10pm I-94 closed TFN both lanes at Paw Paw mm52-60 over 50 piled up. So far mostly rigs. Some very poor driving to cause this. My heart and prayers going to all and families as well as responders and medical personnel.

It seems to happen there fairly often.
Hammer Head 44 and mrbmg Thank this. -
That stretch of road is horrible due to the Lake affect snow that occurs. I've been through there when it was sunny as heck up to the 20 mm, then blizzard for 30 miles, then sunny again.....something seriously needs to be done about that stretch, like a certain amount of plows and salt trucks that are assigned to just that stretch.....we need to raise hell. I would be interested in seeing statistics on that 30-40 miles stretch of road. I'll bet it's up there with some of the worst roads in America....
25(2)+2, NavigatorWife, mrbmg and 1 other person Thank this. -

indiana, michigan, iowa, utah are the most retarted carelless state you guys will never see and smh when fmcsa talking about highway safety, driver log and stuff but when people die because the state didn't clean the snow its nothing.

Has anyone else noticed these are becoming a regular occurrence this winter? I've seen more this year than I ever remember seeing before.
snowblind and biggare1980 Thank this. -
Around lower Lake Michigan they have this problem every winter. Also top 30 miles of I-65 going south in Indiana.
Road freezes from under and the salt melts falling snow, makes excellent ice coating on roads. Throw in a little wind for confusion. Then its darn I wish stayed home. -
Haha those 2 grain haulers from the same company! 2nd guy totally took out the front end of the truck running into the first guy. Bossman gonna be fuming!

There was a pile up about 10 days ago in the area. I-94 from there all the way to Chicago and then some drivers don't give a hoot about safe driving. With the congestion it's one big cluster coitus!
gpsman Thanks this. -
I was just talking about this the other day with other drivers in the yard. I'm just wondering which way the states plan on milking the rest of us to pay for all the busted guardrails and torn arrester cables. I know I've seen more torn up this year then I have in the whole ten I've been driving. This is the exact reason I park it anymore if it starts getting too bad, too many accidents looking for a place to happen and I dont want to be nowhere near them when it happens.
