Replace your aluminum ones with the stainless steel ones. They'll last a lot longer. Flex pipes are needed because if you had a solid pipe from turbo back it be cracked in so many places that it would look like the dessert ground.
-
I am sure many do have them and not a weak as some of the older ones, the old flex pipes never made it more than two winters if you were running in salty areas, out west the gravel on the roads in winter would ding them up then salt back east would make them rust faster with the chrome coating nicked. We ended up running the stacks all stiff and up behind the headache racks as bracket supports eliminating the flex pipe.Gears Thanks this.

I'm glad your okay, very close call, i have this problem at my apt complex, the dryers are the lower level , both natural gas, both vents out the side of the building, both have flex pipe made out that cheap alum tin foil crap, one is tore off, they run the dryers and fill up the whole lower level with gas, they say they cant smell anything, course not you smoke like a chain, anyway my window is above this, and if i leave the window opean on a cool night, which i like to do, the north wind will suck under the wide soffet and right into my apt, i wake up with a dizzy, headachs, diaria feeling, so i just leave my window closed, and that's make me mad, i have no money too move yet, becuse i'm saving up too go back on the road and then i wont have worry about it, cause i only come home once a month anyway,
but like they say , its all in my head, natural gas has no co , they tell me, and yes i bought co and mounted too wall and it goes off , then i have too go for a walk for 30 mins while i blow with fan too the outside too air out my apt

Natural gas can produce CO. They are FOS.

When that thing goes off, call the fire dept just once and report that your detector is going off. They will inspect the entire building, note the deficiencies and make the land lord fix them.

+1...but you left out spelling.

makes you wonder about these new underframe exhaust systems the truck manufactures are making now...... suppose to deflect back under the rear end.. what if u have a tail wind, when parked? Those fumes are going to get in the sleeper... IDC if you have DPF, DEF or whatever, it's still not good imo
-
Weed burners. They can mess you up. Silent killers. I seen a bunch of these guys idle their trucks.
When I park my truck I make sure none of these guys with this exhausts park next to me or any APU units exhaust point under my sleeper.
Also do a after trip inspection to make sure my truck in top condition before I go to sleep so just incase something wrong I can fix or have fixed while I'm taking my 10 hour rest and not worry about it in the am waisting valuable driving time.
