AB5 will not affect you at all if you are operating under your own authority, it only impacts those that have trucks leased on to companies that have you operating under their authority. Doesn't matter where you register or try and register outside of the state, the state especially so with Cali will get their dollars... Back in the day I used to register my trailers out of Oklahoma to save reg costs, but just not worth the hassles anymore.

 

I wouldn’t get to worried about. When CARB came out with the new truck and bus regulations everyone thought the world was gonna end and that there weren’t gonna be any trucks to run in the state. Fact is, it’s not been enforced all that much, and there are still plenty of non compliant trucks running everyday in the state.
