thets why they don't like to send dispatch sheet right away because in case they find cheaper carrier. but try to cancel their load because you find better one its the whole diferent story

You just talking about TQL? Ignore my previous post. Yes, TQL does that to me also.

This is a pet peeve I have with TQL. The last two times they called me and I agreed to take a load they refused to give me the pickup or delivery address. I signed the rate agreement back to them and both times booked another load. One load they never called me back with the pickup address. The other load they called back 5 hours later while I was driving with another load.

That won't happen, Skate-Board. Big Brother wants to run us small guys out first. That's their main priority. Big shippers would fight that tooth and nail and they have the money to do it (and to pay off those in power).

Believe me, it does not always happen. As a broker myself, as well as having my own authority, I sometimes send a rate con with no info other than the cities, when a dispatcher won't give me the driver's cell when it's a very important load. I have the driver call me so I can feel him out (and get his cell), see if he is indeed where the dispatcher said he was and if he really is or will be empty and knows about the load like the dispatcher told me. I don't trust dispatchers and I've had instances where the driver was totally unaware of my load and schedule for him when the dispatcher told me otherwise.

Also, I've gotten rate cons from other brokers that don't give the p/u or consignee until I sign the first one that comes in.
It's OK, I can deal with it.

All mine come with that info. If they don't I don't sign it and call them back saying I want it except for TQL. I sign theirs then look for another load. The ones that don't give me the info then do I usually call the shipping department. Some times I get a different story from them. Then I call the broker back and they get pizzed at me for calling like I don't have the brains to carry on a conversation. No info to me means there's something up.

My wife called me a few years ago when I was on my way to p/u at a shipper. She said the broker wanted me to give him a call. Had a funny feeling, so I told her don't answer the phone if he calls back and I didn't call him, either. When I got to the shipper I worked quickly to get the loading process started. Had been there once before for another broker so I knew the deal. The shipper showed me the BOL and I signed it right away to "lock it in". Once he started loading me he got a phone call from the broker. I told the shipper I'd call him right back on my cell. I went a good distance away from the shipper and gave him a call. He asked me what I was doing there and I told, "Whaddy mean? You gave me this load." He said, "Yeah, but I called your dispatcher to have you call me." "Oh, what's the problem?", I asked. I "The load got cancelled", he said. I said, "No, it's not cancelled. I'm loaded." Aw, man, you weren't supposed to take it. Did you start loading yet?"
I said, "Oh, yeah, I'm all loaded and signed the bills. The load didn't cancel."
"Oh, man! I got another guy on his way there."
"Oh, I thought you said the load cancelled", I asked innocently. :D
"Naww, I found a cheaper truck", he actually admitted.
I said, "You can't do that. We have a contract."
He said, "No, that's why I had your wife call you to stop you from going in there."
I said, "Well, I'm all loaded now and on my way."
The shipper then asked, "What did he want."
I said, "Oh, he thought the load had cancelled."
"I wonder why he would think that?", he mused.
    I said, "I dunno."
The shipper proceeded to finish loading me and I then I tarped it and took off.

MAN, did i feel the VICTORY on that one!! Stuck it to ya, crook!

Urziel, Straitliner, Volvo2 and 4 others Thank this.
