I've used TQL.They are what they are if you think a company has to have your morals are values they might not be for you.I use them when it meets my needs. It seems some on here think they need to make a living with one broker? If they have a load going where I need to go and rate I'll load it.On the same hand I know how they operate ,I don't pre book any load with them because it's not going to be there .There going to get a better offer because they have the same load posted 6 different ways. and tell me it canceled it has happens to much.they do pay on time

These truckers have been dealing with these issues many times over and you know full well how hard it is to make money in the trucking business when the spot rate market is as bad as it is right now.
It's only normal when you are full of anger and dis-satisfaction you want to unload on those that put you in that position. I understand that LB is genuine and trying to start a conversation which is kind of rare from a broker to do so. I had issues with TQL as well, similar to what has been stated in this thread. Bottom line brokers are snakes (salesmen) and when these people work on commission they become sharks.
To me it's all about greed, everybody is looking to rip off somebody in this business and the target is always the truckers.
I truly believe this industry is broken and need fixing, there is no transparency and all business dealings between truckers and brokers are based on mistrust and greed. We need to see transparency and fair rate negotiations and for this to happen we need a truckers union to fight for our rights

"Nobody should do any business with anyone that is not 100% honest all the time"
That is exactly what every trucker should do, I really don't have time or patience to play games.
Right now I have excellent relationships with a few brokers (3) and they know that once I get the rate con they know it will be done and along the way my communication with my brokers is constant (I keep my brokers updated from the moment I am tendered the load till I am unloaded).
Communication is fundamental so that the broker has a peace of mind. My business motto is "Delivering Peace of Mind" lol
My brokers love me and I loved more lol. Relationship, honesty, and trust. If anyone of those is missing in your business dealings then move on before you get burnt

This is extremely true. 10% possibly 15% of the overall cost is what Brokers took back when I initially started 1st as a Carrier in the late 90's. Eventually I met the wrong ones, sold the truck and went back aw a driver for a Unionized company. 3 year into it again as a carrier in a more difficult time however, still trying to make it work. A Receiver the other day asked me 'how much am I being paid for his shipment delievery?' When I told him he freaked out and handed me some money after the delivery. The Broker's margin was 45%. So, for those who argue about it are the biggest problem. However, I needed the load in order to top up the difference in that area. In most cases Brokers know this.

It's 100% true. There is no transparency amongst the majority of major Freight Brokers firms and some smaller ones are trying to reach a similar pinnacle as the greedy larger ones like TQL. I seen a desperate Broker on the load board yesterday, as no one will take the load because for one it's a maxed out weight and the mountain terrain damage the best of trucks. The load was reposted for a few hours until the clock ran out. I'm sure he got someone to take it for the low but from the emails alone, you can see that he couldn't figure out to out smart the majority by manipulation tactics. Imo the load should go for $2.30 cpm at minimum but he wouldn't mention the weight or specifics until you gave him a rate. In the next few months when this mess is cleaned up, I want to see how the crap show is going to uphold on the Brokers end whiles try to lowball 44,000 lbs loads for less then $1.70 cpm? Carriers have Overhead expenses to fix these trucks with inflation prices so that needs to be taken into consideration. Every dog has its day!

It's ironic how you're complaining about brokers but yet you still work for them. Why not find your own customers?

Ironic how you keep trolling me about that? I actually established one because of that recent situation when the receiver (customer) paid me cash. If it doesn't register in your brain, you will see that I said 'some' therefore 'some' brokers doesn't equivalent to all.

So you need brokers because you can't find your own customers. You can't find your own customers because your services are nearly worthless.
