Yes, because that's what he said....

It's like saying all Canadians say Eh, or all Muslims are radical, or all American's are fat,

###, ONE guy from TQL posted, and everyone here acts like he pillaged and raped them ###, it's embarrassing.

Seriously for an industry in which relationships are going to make you money, a ton of you do a piss poor job going about it,

What if this guy was the one guy at TQL that was different? You just threw that relationship down the drain, for what, to be tough on an internet board? Really?

And the alternative, if he wasn't, then what? No one is saying you are forced to work with the guy, but my god, some of you throw the baby out with the bathwater, then complain about not making any money, or how rates or bad, or how brokers are evil etc,

My god give your head a shake....

I ton of us do a piss poor job? Hold up.
I noticed your profile says that you are not a trucker, so I'm going to take a guess that you are a broker, maybe for TQL.

I tried TQL for years and they do a piss poor job. And I'm not just speaking for my self or other truckers on here. When I picked up loads for TQL I would simply ask someone at the shipper or receivor " how do you like TQL?" 75% of the time all the answers were negative.

The company has a bad reputation! From truckers, carriers, shippers, and receivors.
I've had a number of loads work from TQL, but a whole lot of them didn't work. I've canceled my account with them.
I've even read some web sights from employees that work there and there are problems within TQL. Even found a law suit filed by employees that worked at TQL on unfair condentions at TQL.

The desk job at TQL might be tough working hard hours dealing with the boss and the phones. But were out here doing the work, with long hours, with traffic and a whole lot more liability riding down the road.

Some of us actually figure this business out, and what I mean by that is, that we actually do develop relationships with reputable brokers.

We also figure out who not to bother with.

If there is only one reputable broker at TQL, then TQL is not even worth the time of day....

Awww shucks. It sucks. Why did you even call them? I suspect you knew about their reputation yet you gambled and got burnt. I am not defending TQL, I am defending this guys attitude, its refreshing. And yes, I have been an company driver and owner op, it sucks I know. Dealing with non-sense last minute cancellations is one of the MANY reasons why I no longer drive trucks for a living. I am sure you never ever had to cancel a load, for what ever reason.

Great piece of advice, pick a person you enjoy talking to and develop a relationship.

Ok, so you go from this, to saying if TQL only has one reputable broker, they have gone downhill,

You go further on to say that you know how to do this and develop a relationship, yet you join the dog pile on this guy....because why then?

Because he works for TQL, and bad brokers there have tarnished their reputation,

So, because there are bad drivers out there, you should be harnessed to their reputation as well?

Or do you just want one without the other...

I think the deafening silence from OP says more than any of the remarks since.

Yup, that or the "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to refresh that one, but I do have..."

Or you get the one that needs to "check with their customer" and call back when they're just feeling out the market. I can at least respect the brokers who say "I don't actually have a load there, I'm just trying to get an idea what to charge the customer -- what would you take?"
