I am about to give up!

Yea we have to try and keep our chins up... I know how you guys feel... I have been looking for awhile I started driving 12-98 and have a clean background but to many crappy jobs on dac and its seems I have been out of truck to long...a year ...so its been hard to a company to talk to me as well. Its really bad out there however....people still have to eat, sleep on something, drive there fuel needy cars around and so forth so there have to be companies doing all this we just have to think a little harder I guess to find out who they are... Hey here is a thought...City garbage anyone?!...lol

 

Here is a thought since we are both in the DFW area we can run team on a garbage truck ..sent in 11 apps on Sat and not one answer lol beginning to think they put something on my DAC

 

not sure about your area but here garbage men get paid well. also a hard job to get.

 

I can see it now, garbage truck with double chrome stacks and trucker stuff hanging all over it... LOL

Seriously, you gals and guys who are looking for jobs and have driven really need to check the DAC and find out what's on it. I believe there is something on this site about getting it checked out.

 

I got a letter from Crete yesterday saying they turned me down " in whole or in part based on information in my DAC report" .Dose that mean they have a DAC on me before I even start driving? I've requested a copy of my report to see what is on it. Thanks

 

As of 02/19/09 the next orientation date for Stevens is 4/6/09, I researched it a bit more and found out there is currently a hiring freeze. Same with Covenant, didnt sound like they were accepting students, only people that already have a cdl.

 

Impressive amount of research, regardless. I feel for ya man. When the economy picks up you may want to try your list again, but some, like JB, require 3 months experience minimum and I doubt that will change.

whats on your drivers license? and do you have some sort of record, like a felony?

 

Did you call those companies to get that info or look at their websites?

 

I've got a misdemeanor charge of possession of Marijuana in 1999. I've been turned down by over 25 trucking co. The rest don't even reply. I've applied to 10 to 15 comp. a day for the last 60 days. I think it's time to give up.
