I am about to give up!

Tonight was the last straw! i have to find a solo job! We just had to get a tow truck to pull us out of the mud cause my idiot co-driver thought that pulling a u-turn on street in Des Plaines, IL was a good idea! I havent slept in a month!

 

More respect to you. I never will understand how people can drive with someone else behind the wheel while you try to sleep, and pray that you'll wake up the next day.

 

Well at least they fired the idiot today! but now I have to worry that the next idiot might even be worse!..............lol

 

other than KNOWING they are a goood driver.....
getting PAID for their miles too as a trainer may be good enough.
but EVEN THEN sleep doesn't come easy LOL

 

Why would you put your life in the hands of a stranger for a couple bucks? If you live on the road, a truck is more of a personal thing to me. I don't like sharing.

 

I was drivin down I-95 towards Miami today when I hear.......BOOM!.......trailer tire blew out on me! So I pulled over to the shoulder to take a look and I see that there is a hole in the sidewall but the tire hadn't shredded yet. So I limped it down to the next exit so it would be safer for the tire man.

I parked on the get-on ramp, then got out to put my triangles out, as I was walking past the tire that had blown, the tire next to it goes............BOOM!

I tell ya what you aint never seen a fat man move so fast! I'm sure ppl driving by were laughing their arses off!.........

I'm still new but I never heard of a tire blowing a hole in the sidewall while it was sitting still! What about anybody else????

 

The good tire will commonly heat up and build excessive pressure and then blow whether its moving or not.

 

A tire like an engine will actually heat up more sitting (after running of course) that it's temperature moving down the road. Hot spots allow heat to radiate further away thus increasing the heat in other areas.

Low air pressure will cause excessive heat, the result is a Blow Out ! Does thumping a tire give you accurate PSI ?

Hey I know guys who look under the truck for wet spots,they say , " If It ain't leaking it must be full", Yeah Right !


And How do you like Running for the CRST brand? Our company(Southern) just hired a driver, who turned in his CRST lease truck. He said he has un-paid back taxes for fuel and Income and lost money working there as a L/O. He spilled his guts when we drove to Salt Lake to recover another (Southern) Truck.

 

I ran across AZ one summer in 100+ degree temperatures. I pulled on the CA scales and I could see the DOT laughing and pointing at my trailer tires. I looked in the mirror and we watched a small bubble rise out of the sidewall to the size of a basketball. I pulled over and the DOT was still laughing and was nice about it. He popped it with his pocket knife. I didn't get in any trouble. He just told me to call road service and get it fixed.

Anybody that curbs a tire causes a weak spot in the sidewall as the cords get overstretched and damaged. It can be five drivers ago and you never know.
Low air pressure, overweight, summer heat, bad bearings or brakes can all produce excessive heat on a tire.

It's not a good tire then!
