What arrest record? First i have heard of this. If it deals with theft or drugs, sorry to say, but honestly you will not drive anytime soon. It has to be at least 10 yrs and even then that will not guarantee anything.

Just in case anyone wonders why, here is the reason. Even though you paid society, if in fact you did. Trucking companies look at those things as the possibility that you would be tempted to be a thief. Whether you are or not, thats one of the reasons. Also, some insurance companies will have issues with a criminal record.
If you have any type of record, they will look at it. Bringing it around to the one thing I have stressed on here until my fingers are ready to fall off... Do NOT lie on your application! Your potential or existing employer WILL find out. It might not be while you're applying, it could be five years after you're hired, but they will find out and there is the great possibility that you will be fired. Doesn't matter that you've paid your debt to society or that you were the driver of the year. If you are fortunate and they don't fire you, you will never been looked upon as you were. Your honesty will always be questioned. You will pay for not being truthful on that application. If you take the time to completely read it, most have a clause about telling the truth. In the past I had worked for companies who looked at your credit report, called everyone on your application, and you will not believe this one... APA Transport had people at every terminal send in the newspaper everyday so someone could go thru them for people committing crimes, they didnt want people with any issues working for them. That goes a bit far but here you go.
FYI, I don't know if anyone looks at the credit report anymore, if they did there wouldnt be a surplus of drivers in this country. Just a little humor LOL:biggrin_25525:

Here is my response to those who have issues about the application itself. Whether or not it's on paper or computer generated.
It's designed to be easy to fill out and its designed for the people reading it to be able to go through it quickly. No offense to anyone, but there are people who have issues filling them out for many reasons, simple application, no stress. For the people who don't think that there is enough questions about work history etc. It's very simple the company is looking for the best and most qualified person to drive their truck. They are not looking for a brain surgeon, just someone to drive their truck. That's why the application is quick and easy.

If they look at my credit report I'm ruined. The last 2 months of 1800 mile weeks have pretty much ruined my ability to pay the bills on time.

Easy! While it is awesome that you have been able to overcome all of these medical challenges, the medical issues combined with the tickets in 2007 and the older issues are causing you problems.

First strike against you is your location. It is very difficult to get trucking jobs out of most areas of Florida. The further south, the worse it is.

Second and Third strikes are the Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. The diabetes alone is a major black mark, even though you were allowed to get your CDL. High blood pressure is another biggie. Especially with the current state of the industry.

The current state of the industry, which has been going on for several months allows companies to be extremely picky about the drivers they hire. It's hard for people with NO tickets and NO health issues to get jobs.
