I don't know if you have treid them yet, but if not, give Con-Way truckload a call. I have been not working for just over 2 years and am working with them about going to school through them to drive team with my boyfriend. When my recruiter got to the point in the interview about work history and found out how long I had been out of work she said that it could be a problem and sent my app to approval from a supervisor but it got APPROVED. I wasn't sick or a homemaker or anything either, just out on the truck with my boyfriend as a passenger.
They are also a pretty good company, my boyfriend has worked there for just over 2 years and loves it. I have been on their truck just under 2 years and have liked what I have seen as well.
Also even if you don't go to school through them but your school is one they approve of they will reimburse you half you money
Anyway, best of luck, keep us updated
Katey
I am being turned down more than I thought I would...

Mike, I don't know about big orange on this one, but most comapines say this with teams, for me it was true at USXpress. I was a trainer for them then went teams, and it was all true. we had great mileage it was great, the most money I've made as a driver I made as a team member. But here is the huige draw back, you get sick of putting down 6,000 mile weeks and you get more sick of your team mate, LOL. So make sure you can deal with someone. Some companies will offer to "Place" you with a team mate, but thats a crap shoot. One of the hardest things to do is rest while someone is driving, weaving in and out of traffic, bumpy roads, pot holes etc.. Its a different kind of driving, but one to think about.
Mike' Thanks this. -

Con-Way Truckload has 5 "terminals" and a bunch of "droplots". The terminals are in: Joplin, MO; Laredo, TX; Lancaster, TX; West Memphis, AR; and Taylor, MI. They hire from most states though.
My boyfriend said the Taylor terminal is not too far from Toledo.
