Boss said the guy with the most loads wins. OK he more or less admits he encourages reckless and foolish behavior. If I complete the day without an accident, without a ticket, and delivered my loads in a timely manner I win the day. I had 6 loads that day supper trucker got 7. Boss also gave super trucker the first load so he gets the additional load and looks good.

Make matters worse yesterday the serpentine belt failed and the truck overheated a little. I shut it down long before any damage. Super trucker told the boss a line of bs and said it was steaming and boiling over. That never happened. He told the boss to bring antifreeze. A bunch of crap but the boss was a jerk towards me. He never had to add antifreeze so obviously it never got really hot.

Working for this guy has its problems.

He also likes the drivers to do freebies. He only pays from the time the wheels leave his yard till the time the wheels touch the yard at the end of the day. Pretrip, post trip, fueling, paperwork, and everything else is on the drivers dime. He pays 1 hour per week to wash the truck. If there are several truck waiting to use the pressure washer you don't get paid to wait. He also breaks that hour down. I get 15.50 to drive but only 12 bucks for that hour spent washing the truck. He complains if I use the headlights on a cloudy day. I use headlights to make myself more visible. He said he doesn't wanna replace bulbs.

I will put a year or so in here and move on. I need seat time but long term this guy is a trip.

Here is the way I look at it. My first big truck job was a chicken excrement reefer outfit called Farmer's Distributing, in St. George, UT. Your typical "dad builds the business so jack arse kid can ruin it."
I was with them for less than two months. I don't work for people who steal from me in any way. And there were numerous other problems. Today, I wouldn't have worked for them past the first run.
Anyway, the way I look at it, is that perhaps a new driver is actually lucky if he works for a dirt bag outfit, as his first job. It sort of gives him a yardstick to compare everything else to.
