dont judge them but the trucks lol. you will learn how the dm's work real soon.... thats y why most do not stay...the way they have switched the way teh load planners and the dm work together and its gone to hell. left hand is never talking to the right hand anymore. but hey, good luck and hope it works out for ya and that you get home more the 2 days every 4-5 months......

Don't worry . The school isn't all we judge CRE by and I don't think your post will sway many's decisions . I hope the people at CRE are favorably impressed by your post .

I could go so many directions with this, very few of which are "family friendly," so I'm just going to walk away from it.... heh...

Been with England for over 3 years and yesterday DM tells me my Hometime for Christmas has been canceled, too much freight needs to be moved. Told them I own my truck and cannot be forced to work like a slave. Told them I would fly home and when I get back I want out of their fleet.

Well a hour later they find me something to get me home on Christmas day. Don't understand how they can treat a veteran driver that way.

Had a really interesting conversation with an England trainer today, while having coffee at the J.
He's an O/O, been training with England for two years, has total of 4 years driving experience.
The most interesting comment from him was, "There is no way I'd advise ANYONE to come to England. Our training is abhorant, we break the rules constantly and send far too many drivers out on the road as a solo that have inadequate training and are a danger to the public."
I asked him why he did it, knowing this and he told me, "I'd like to think I make a difference and send out good qualified students, but in reality, it's just for the money."
I heard horror story after horror story on how they screw their drivers, their students and have no conscience about it at all.
"The only way to survive," he said, "is to be a flower on the wall. You're there, but no one notices you. Keep low, suck it up and continue."
I asked him how he became an O/O, having started with England in the first place.
He told me he had some money put away, and when they started starving him for miles towards the end of a one year lease, he made a buyout offer and they accepted it. Then they moved him into the training dept.
"If they think you have some money socked away, they respect you. Either that they fear you can afford to hire a lawyer."
So there you go, folks. Take it for what it's worth.
I have read so many posts about England here and often wondered if they attracted more whiney butts, figuring the most desperate end up there due to the way they recruit. I often wondered how true so many of these posts were.
But based on this conversation, the posts and two drivers that worked for me that had received their training at England, I have no doubts.
