OK, I admit that I'm not exactly the brightest of individuals but, what is "trolling"?

The percentage of leasers that actually are successful is low but I wish you lots of luck. It's probably here but i'll ask anyway, who do you think you'll lease with?

Thank you DriverToBroker. I accept your apology but it really wasn't necessary. Maybe I did ask for some may consider "stupid advice" but at least I did ask, my mistake I guess. I guess I should just forget the experience I gained for twenty years and bow down and worship people like chompi. Now this person has a great looking rig, seems to be popular according to their profile and has some wonderful looking pictures in their album. From all appearances, it looks like they are living their dream. Yet the only advice they can offer is:

"Ok we won't be nay sayers! Go for it Billy Big Rig! You must know something nobody else in the industry knows because any other half way experienced driver would know that leasing is not even an option! We need people like you though because these mega-carriers hope and pray there are more just like you that are willing to pay for their trucks while they make money!

Oh yeah and my recommendations of great companies to lease from would have to be England, Werner, Swift, John Christner, Prime the list is long but these are my absolute favorites! Its a no brainer! You can get one of these brand new trucks for no money down! You also don't have to have any money in the bank either! They also pay way more than company drivers. Instead of $.34 a mile they pay you all the way up to $.85 a mile! Now that's big money! Please, for the love of God, keep us posted on your big success out there
    "!

It is a shame that chompi has to belittle someone to the extent that they have, just to say, "leasing is bad choice to make if you are trying to do your own thing". You see chompi, I don't know anything that nobody else does, that why I asked. Your post does not upset me, just the opposite. I feel pity for you. All the knowledge you must have, yet all you can do is spew hate. So maybe I did ask a stupid question in your eyes, but I did get the answers I was looking for. Now I think I will go and see how to add someone to my ignore list.

Hello pattyj, I really have no idea. I started this post looking for advice on the very same question you asked me. I read all the negative things about leasing on this forum and was basically just seeing if anyone could recommend a good company to go with. The majority of the reply's indicate that leasing is not the way to go and there are no good companies leasing at this time. As you stated, the "odds of success" are low. I enjoy driving. My goal is running long haul and staying out of NYC. I would rather do this as an O/O or I/C instead of being just an employee. So I will look into as many options as I can. Thanks for the "Good Luck", I think I will need all I can get. Drive Safe.

I have already turned down two offers as I do not want to go the 1099 route. I also was offered a job as a CDL Instructor in my area. I turned that down as well. With their system, the Instructor only gets paid if your student passes the course.

If you are leasing a truck you will be paid with 1099.you will be treated as a O/O and all O/O are paid that way.I found a truck and financed it through stark leasing.Payments are the same as what my credit union said and I didnt need the 20% down.this is my second truck.my first was payed off early through my credit union but because the slackers who wasnt responsible it is alot harder to finance.I am leased onto risinger and have talked to many drivers who have been sucessful leasing through them.they are used penske trucks and have been inspected through the independent garage in the yard.2 yrs lease and the truck is yours.I have been off work with a broken foot for 12 weeks and risinger has made a truck payment and gave me money for Christmas and calls me often to see how Im doing.Ive never driven for a company that really cared about a driver
