Lord, I miss that life.
(Not a prayer, Lord, just telling you I miss it. Don't change anything, at least not yet.) -
I believe what the point is/was:
You have a guy who shovels #### and loves his job... and at the end of the each day he gets kicked in the ###, and he loves that also as part of the job... good for him. He's happy... whatever floats yer boat right?
a 2nd guy comes along and takes a job shoveling #### and loves the job also, but when he gets kicked in the ### says "Screw you" ... does that mean the 2nd guy is wrong for wanting to change the fact he doesn't like getting kicked in the ### every day? Does that mean the guy who enjoys getting kicked in the ### every day should be telling others who enjoy shoveling #### but not getting kicked in the ### to "get a desk job"? LOL
I think not... And the first guy, and any other guy who also likes getting kicked in the ### daily, shouldn't be pissed because the 2nd guy, and any other guy, says "this ought to change. You like getting kicked in the ### daily...fine...be happy. But if it's me too... I'm gonna get that part changed cause I still love shoveling ####.
Got it now?So... be happy...and be safe.

Well put.

That is so true... So many people are complaining but not standing up for themselves. It's a plague among truck drivers to have some seriously tall tales, and the more popular ones I've heard are the stories about how some driver told off his dispatcher and now his dispatcher kisses his ##*. It's a load of nonsense. Basically you gotta take up the slack for everyone else.
I think it takes an entrepreneurial mindset to make a driving career really work. Even so, the companies have dumbed-down the job so much that drivers really don't have to think much for themselves.
I talked to one guy who drove for Swift and then Trans Am, and he #####ed and moaned about how Trans Am didn't route him and point out his fuel stops for him, and all they did was tell him the destination and the available fuel stops along the way. He just LOVED Swift because they routed him on the exact roads and told him which fuel stops to stop and fuel. It was all I could do not to tear into him for being so worthless.

I guess, though, looking at history, we have a lot that we wouldn't have had a few generations ago. Also, comparing ourselves to other less fortunate countries, I think we don't appreciate what we do have now, that a lot of people don't have. Looking through pictures of Cite de Soleil in Haiti, I wonder why we complain so much. We're fat and spoiled and throwing fits for not getting our way. It just amazes me that it's on such a large scale. Then again, I guess it's a good thing that we've been able to achieve this level of living across the country. -
One might not "like" being kicked in the buttox, butt does that mean he can't go elsewhere if his boat won't float?
Or are you suggesting he has no other choice?
Butt it would make me wonder why they applied for an excrement shovelin' job with the optional buttox kickin' in the first place.
Why not?
A sittin' buttox ain't as easy to kick as a shovelin' buttox.
Leave 'em alone!
If you want the change for YOU, that's one thang.
But don't expect that everyone will agree with YOUR idea of "right".
For some, that could be wrong.
I thought you wanted to change that?
Now you're sayin' "be happy"?
Make up your mind.
Believe it or not, I never DIDN'T get it --- then, or now.
Why do you equate all drivin' gigs as a "kick in the ###"?
Man-0-Man.
Have you never had a great drivin' gig?
Specialized freight, maybe?
How about VERY time sensitive freight?
Arriving late is NOT an option, and the schedules are more in tune with the entertainment and/or sports industry than Big truck truckin' schedules.
Git 'er done --- or the multi-million dollar production doesn't go on.
Do YOU want to be the first one to drop the ball?
Consider this ---- what YOU want doesn't always fit what MUST be done by SOME of the Big truck truckers who are entrusted to git 'er done.
I'd venture to say that those whinin' about time off would NEVER be successful with a gig like that.
But that's one of the segments of truckin' that pays WELL above average.
Not to mention the perks --- which CAN consist of a PAT on the buttox, and a big bonus
check.
Job well done.
Ain't THAT a "kick"?
Me?
Well, I'll take that kick in the buttox --- for NOT gettin' into the truckin' industry
SooneR.
I knew what it was and I know what it is.
And it hasn't changed much at the bottom OR at the top.
If y'all haven't been to the top, don't knock what'cha don't understand.
SOMEtimes, helpin' us hurts us, ---- more than that kick in the buttox y'all seem so focused on avoiding.
That's the twuth.
Does it hurt?
MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
You instigate these problems and you propitiate the problem by going on and on and on. You have got to stop having them hamburgers delivered and get out yourself.
Your to consumed by your own ego to see it, but the following is an example of your insult's, in this case it was Timtruck.
Is it remotely possible that it's YOU who doesn't have a clue?Last edited: Oct 4, 2008

Your response is "Or what?" What's that's suppose to mean. Read the whole thing, if you can.
Your following Aftershock?!?. MG not another one.You guys wanta keep this stupid argument going like little babies. Ok I'll play for a little while.
Aftershock has nothing, pretty well covered, you just think so for some unk reason. You better get a new hat because that tin foil has holes in it. She just rattles on like a housewife demanding attention from a husband. If you can't look at her endless nonsensical post and see this, well like I said get that hat fixed.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 6, 2008
