I am surprised all companies do not force teams only?

Knowing my luck that will happen since I am much happier and effective when I am alone. I am the type of person who doesn't hate someone because their opinion differs than mine. Sadly it seems that 98% of all people will dislike you if you do not agree with everything that they think is right. So I try to avoid any controversial subjects when dealing with people. I am surprised that companies allow solo drivers though. It seems that most jobs do not care at all about your preference and it appears that team driving allows the truck to keep moving so I am surprised they do not only offer team driving only. Or do they allow solo drivers because there are other advantages that I am not aware of?

Not all companies have team freight or miles. Even some big companies can't keep teams busy.

A lot of loads can be delivered by a solo driver. Solo's make, say, 35c a mile VS. a team making 44c. Teams can run coast-coast in 48 hrs. A solo takes 4 days.

Companies vary as much as drivers do.

In theory team is great. In the real world it's not so good. I drove team for 6 months. You split pay on each load but you seldom run out of hours. Staying loaded is a problem. Layovers are a problem. 2 alpha males in a truck unless great friends are a problem. People get sick, I have run under my team members log book to meet the miles needed to get the load there. Never got caught. If your fresh out of a school and need the miles it's ok I guess. Very few teams last over 6 months.
