I am thinking to lease on to Packard Transport LLC base in IL but I’ll be working for Houston TX terminal, I want to know a bit about the fuel surcharge, how good is their load board is it direct customer loads or mostly broker loads, do they have agents in all states, and since Packard is part of Evans Network Companies will I be able too book loads on their load boards??
I am thinking to lease on to Packard Transport LLC base in IL, any insight will be appreciated.

This will not help, but quite a few years ago and old guy in an old 71 or 2 model CO called me from he truckstop with a flat on his steer tire. He was leased to packard, I want to say ran out of the Dallas area.
It had 10.00 20 rubber and I could not find a hole in the tube, something that is easy. I waisted quite a bit f time looking, I could find nothing in the tire either. I finally put a new tube in it, he had one of his own and put it back together, but told him if something was in the tire, it may go down again.
Once I made the bill and charged him for the flat, I didn't charge service calls to the truckstop because it was so close, he told me that he had let the air out himself, it wouldn't go flat again. lol I was not real happy and ask him why he let me waist all the time looking for it.
This was his answer. he had a fleet of trucks leased to packard and every once in a while he would run a load himself, in that old cabover he started with, and do stuff like this finding shops to deal with that didn'ttry and rip him off. lol
I wound up getting a good tip out of it.
He was happy with packard, but like I said, that was years ago.Speed_Drums and HoneyBadger67 Thank this. -
