Hello my name is Joe and I have been a professional truck driver for 19 years now and I think it is time to go out my own and work for myself. The thing about this is this is a very big decission to make and was just wanting to get some feedback on those that have been in my position and went out and did it.I would also like to get some information on either buying or leasing and if buying new or used. I would also like to know which type companies will pay more per mile reefer, dry van or flatbed. I have been hauling reefers now for 18 years.Any information on this topic will be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks Joe(geauxjoe)

    WELCOME!!

There are a few very recent threads on this very topic....
    One word of advice?

Avoid leases...especially from ANY major carrier.

..if you cant afford a decent used rig outright and feel very strongly convinced that leasing is the right decision for you,
please look at an independent leasing company.

    Something like these people:

Best of luck to you..please read the piles of threads around here. Many of them are very very recent...
