I am saying on typical day 4-500 mile day if we take let's say after 150 miles take 15mins then after another 150 miles take 45- hour half nap then drive it in .. I know I can drive it the whole way with just a 30 min break but I am wondering does this type of break really affect money made and home time , or is it minimum at weeks end? It can either be a go hard feel miserable or have a balance and have life .. Hometime is important to me so I like my company home weekends .. but wondered did my breaking cost me tons hometime thanks for all respons ..

I don't go home everyday , I can go all day but it makes it nice to nap or take breaks .. I am not trying to win he man contest I am trying to make job best it can be , I know some guys are run it till u fall asleep or cuss someone out I like to keep my sanity and enjoy my work

It doesn't sound like you enjoy it.

Loads dictate your hours.Take as many brks as you want just make sure to be on time delivering.If your company has consistant miles and you keep taking brakes it will affect your paycheck.

Don't get paid for sleeping. Not saying I haven't taken a nap before but it was when I was teaming and had a full day cushion on the load which couldn't deliver any earlier. Not sure how my teammate would have felt about regular naps. He was pretty pissed to wake up on the onramp with an intertrip idle violation warning repeatedly going off, and my ### leaned over the steering wheel taking a nap lol -

A few naps a day sounds a bit extreme to me but you have to run how you feel comfortable. As long as you're making your appointments that is.
You'll get a much better idea of how you run affects you by talking to other drivers at the same company but in most cases running harder and being dependable will result in more miles and more money.
As for showing up early, that can be a double edged sword depending on what your next load is. Start your clock an your early, get unloaded early but then have to kill two hours because you reload isn't ready. Now your 14 hour clock is running out a couple hours earlier than it needed to and you're stuck stopping for the night just before getting to a major city like Chicago and having to run through it during heavy traffic in the morning when you could have made it through that night if you hadn't started your day too early. -
The company I work for his home every weekend but we do primarily slingshot runs during the week with FCFS deliveries. Some drivers like to roll in about 10-11am and unload because technically it's fine as long as it's there by 1600 and their miles certainly reflect that. I try to be there by 8am, get unloaded and onto my reload. I'm out here during the week to work not lay around babysitting a truck and I expect to be run that way. Obviously this is trucking and there's rare occasions where I'll get a short hop which I'll run it pretty lazily unless it's a 24hr receiver.
