I am not the best owner operator you will meet. Maybe I jumped in being an owner operator too soon. However, the bossing and hustling the companies did to me compelled me into buying a brand new Freightliner Cascadia! At first it was a nightmare. The tiresome mornings I spent finding loads on DAT load was enough for me to regret the decision I made. However, as time heals everything, I started to find good connections. I am located in Modesto,CA and I found a broker that would pay me all year to take loads from Foster Farms located in Turlock,CA to Costco located in Sumner,WA. This broker also gave me back haul to Northern California. The back-haul rates would fluctuate. Now the back-haul rates average is My total trip is mostly CPM. I am working on working with a direct shipper soon! But what do you guys think on the CPM trips... Turn around period for me is usually Sunday to Thursday!?
I average a $1.50 CPM on my trips?

You'll prob lose one if not both runs being that you posted a little to much info. But 1.55 with your own numbers and a new truck I hope your cost are down and the truck is paid for.

reefer?

If it's a consistent run, that's pretty good.
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
1.55$ is about the average for vans these days. I'd say it's OK as long as you can make 3000+ miles minimum a week.

Thank you for free sales led customer names and rates perfect. Only in trucking this happens , and these are business men

Look at this, you post up your grand 2.08 per mile on your outbound reefer freight from California and people are going to jump on it to try to take it from you. You can do much better than that out of cali ...

I agree, your rate is on the low side but now that everyone knows where your running and what it's paying some other cut throat will come in and take it as a so called back haul and cut your head haul rate. Kinda like your so called back haul.

Yeah, go ahead and take the sale information. I promise you that these sales will never make you money, or make you rich. This industry is much more complicated than you perceive. Look around, competition is at its apex. Yes, I run reefer and also I don't care if anyone else comes and gets these rates because no one will find the actual person that gives out these loads. The person that is giving me these rates are a trucking company and broker company located in Lodhi, CA. They own 450 trucks and have another 100 owner operators hauling their reefers! The customer Foster Farms and Costco will never give out loads to an one man trucking show. You need to have more than 30 fleets to be in the dance buddy. Contradict me and go prove me wrong by getting them on the phone. I'll bet a donkeys ### that the LM will never call you back.. Businessmen
