I don't run there and didn't mean to hurt your feelings. You should be the run knowing if your making enough to make that run.just want you to see what info your posting to much info. If you start running direct for a customer keep that info to yourself

$1.55/mile on 1700 miles/week -- I'm having a hard time seeing how you can pay for brand new equipment while paying yourself a decent wage with all the benefits you'd have working for a reputable company.
$500 truck payment
$200 truck & trailer maintenance
$700 driver wage
$300 driver benefits & payroll tax
$550 fuel
$400 compliance (insurance, plates, drug testing, dot inspections, etc)
------
$2650 expenses -- and that's not counting trailer payment/depreciation or any return on your initial investment...
vs $2635 revenue?
The biggest problem I see is that you're tying up the truck for 5 days to do a 3-day run, but you're not getting paid extra for it.Oxbow, Toomanybikes, ChromeNut and 2 others Thank this. -

Op, for what it's worth, that's almost 50 cpm less than i average leased to a carrier. No way can you operate at that rate over the long term and stay in business.

Maybe that's why he isn't worried about people saying they're going to come in and cut it...lol
Oxbow, fordconvert and John quinton Thank this. -
I guarantee! That no one will get the account. Prove me wrong! I'm owner operator and I tried direct with these guys and no one there would talk to me. Supply chain and logistics go little more deeper than just simple truck drivers like ourselves. The direct shippers we do get is either small time or rip off. The CEO of the trucking company/ broker that gives me these loads never drove a truck in his life. He has Master is Business or something like that. Times are complex or at least here in the West.

Too bad you can't get a reload back to WA right away.

I am curious to know how much mileage based pay carriers pay in your area. I bet it is only slightly less than 1.55.

You seem to know how freight is given out. But you didn't know if your making enough. Either way the broker your working for who is your customer is not going to like you giving away info. On customers , lanes, and rates to everyone on the Internet
