Dy,
I was under the impression he is getting 1.55 all in also while paying insurance plates and everything else. At a mileage company with their base rate plus fuel and minus where they discount your plates or insurance probably cover some small fees, it is likely about the same rateToomanybikes and Ruthless Thank this. -
Ah, not far off then with the miles he drives. $20,000/(1700×50) ~= 24cpm authority costs (not counting hassle).gokiddogo Thanks this.

Isn't it produce season? Don't understand why drivers dry or reefer don't know where to go and get some of this money out here. Just saying.
-
Well then, tell us where to go?
-
-
Will you really go? GA, TN, FL......for the past month or so Over a 1000 plus loads posted up in 150 mile radius out of knoxville, TN. 2 to 4 dollar a mile runs. Just gotta follow the freight. Today at this moment not so many but still more than average.

This ain't even including nursery season which is almost over with.

OP thanks for the honesty and telling the rest of us what many of us all ready know:
-Buying a truck does not automatically = successful business.
-Many of the big boys own the freight and set the rates.
-Leasing your business is often a better deal for the lessee then the lessor.
Got it carry on with the good info and wait for the backstabbing from the lessee and the under-cutters.dboe197 Thanks this.
