Im not concerned with the cost of the ticket itself, i am just concerned whether this will affect my employment in the future. I got 4 months experience and am only doing OTR to get a good local job. So my question is will this affect my employment in the future?

No, but they do remove a finger for each subsequent offense. Now, why did you blow the coop?

what you do is get a local lawyer from the town the scale is in to defend the ticket and get it broken down to a parking violation. They tried to kill me with 15 pts in Ramapo NY when I blew one. If you just pay and hope it goes away you WILL screw your career. Rich people never admit guilt take a trick out of their book and lie like a rug.

first, any new employer will send you for a body cavity search, and they will try and find your head.

second, i have blown by scale houses myself, especially when the entrance ramp is jammed up, and the traffic is on the highway, on the right shoulder.

i have blown past the CT scale on I-84 (can't recall the area, but it is the east bound side) and they DO HAVE or did have a sign that it was (way back then) over a $400 ticket.

but that scale too, was jammed.

i'd rather have gotten a ticket for an asinine scale blow-by, then get involved in a collision with another truck or 4 wheeler, NOT paying attention and crashing INTO me.....

the life/lives i would have saved, and the lawsuits i would have avoided, would have been worth it to me, to get a $400 ticket.

Last I heard there were some areas in the US where blowing a weigh station can result in large fines. These are like some of those overweight fines you see from time to time for roadways and bridges. The fines are serious such as the HRBT near my home for oversize. However, I have never seen a driver become unhirable for getting one. AS some have correctly stated, a safety critter is going to ream you out then chalk it up to driving while stupid then give you that go and sin no more comment. Now I am not saying drivers have not been fired for doing this, I am just saying you are NOT unhirable. What makes a driver unhirable is violating on a regular basis the offenses listed in 383.51.

Around here they get you for "failure to obey a traffic control device", on top of whatever else they add. Those points hurt.
